Mugwort is used to stimulate gastric juice and bile secretion. It is also used as a liver tonic; to promote circulation; and as a sedative. Other uses include treatment of hysteria, epilepsy, and convulsions in children. Women take Mugwort for irregular periods and other menstrual problems.
Mugwort can cause allergic reactions leading to sneezing and sinus-related symptoms, and it can cause contact dermatitis, or rashes, in some people.
WARNING: Use Mugwort with caution!! Mugwort is known to have hallucinogenic properties and can cause fainting from direct sunlight after skin contact (dermal absorption) if an allergy is present. It can also be dangerous to your pets. Only burn this herb in a well ventilated space with windows open & if you’re certain nobody in your household is allergic.
